Torys is excited to welcome Stephanie Kalinowski as a partner in its Pensions and Employment practice in Toronto. Stephanie brings more than two decades of practice to Torys and will deepen the firm’s experience in all areas of pensions and employment.

Stephanie’s practice focuses on advising employers, plan administrators and service providers on all regulatory, governance, compliance and tax matters affecting pension, retirement and group benefit plans as well as cash and equity incentive plans, executive compensation matters and cross-border issues. She regularly advises on strategic, compliance, and implementation issues associated with CAAT pension plan participation and mergers, correction of enrolment and contribution errors in pension plans, pension plan de-risking and annuity purchases, and a variety of issues arising out of corporate transactions.

Stephanie is frequently recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the pensions industry through rankings in publications like Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal. She’s also well represented in advocacy groups and is a Past-Chair of both the Ontario Regional Council and the National Policy Committee of the Association of Canadian Pension Management.
