TELUS Health wins Ontario healthcare contract

TELUS Health has been selected to provide a Remote Care Management (RCM) program in Ontario, following a successful bid to Ontario Health.

This state-of-the-art solution is designed to equip healthcare practitioners with the necessary tools to monitor patients remotely over time, enhancing patient care and outcomes.

The RCM program aims to integrate clinical best practices, ensure high standards of privacy and security, and support early detection and intervention for patients, aiming to reduce hospital admissions.

Martin Bélanger, managing director of payor and provider solutions at TELUS Health, emphasized the collaboration with Ontario Health to develop a standardized remote patient monitoring solution that improves healthcare access across Ontario.

TELUS Health's position as Canada's largest digital health provider positions it uniquely to implement a comprehensive, scalable, and efficient program that promises improved health outcomes for patients and clinicians alike.

Drawing on the successes of similar initiatives in BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, the RCM solution in Ontario is set to launch later this year, promising to enhance care delivery within community settings and patients' homes, addressing the challenges of the province’s acute care system.

In addition to its technology solutions, TELUS Health has significantly contributed to Ontario's healthcare landscape through initiatives like the TELUS Health for Good Mobile Clinics.

These clinics provide essential healthcare and mental health support to individuals experiencing homelessness, collaborating with organizations such as Parkdale Queen West CHC, Sanguen, CMHA Peel Dufferin, REACH Niagara, and Ottawa Inner City Health.

TELUS Health's efforts have facilitated over 200,000 patient visits, underscoring its commitment to community engagement and accessible healthcare across Ontario.
