Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan COO to retire

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has announced that Tracy Abel, chief operating officer, will retire at year-end after a successful multi-decade career with the organization.

Jo Taylor, president, and CEO of Ontario Teachers' stated that throughout her 37 years with the organization, Abel played a key role in delivering outstanding service and retirement security for members.

Her strong leadership, passion for talent development, and deep understanding of daily operations set the organization up well for the future.

Abel joined the Teacher Superannuation Fund in 1987 and took on increasing responsibilities until becoming COO in 2014. She developed innovative solutions for members and established industry-leading service levels.

Abel became COO in 2020. She also represented Ontario Teachers' as a board member for several portfolio companies, including In Touch.
