Westland Insurance has announced its acquisition of Sigurdson Financial Benefits Inc., effective July 1.

Sigurdson Financial Benefits Inc., a benefits brokerage with over 50 years of experience, is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The company specializes in financial planning, group benefits, life insurance, and living benefits. With this addition to its portfolio, Westland Insurance extends its reach across the country and bolsters its capabilities in the benefits sector.

“I’m thrilled to welcome the Sigurdson team to Westland,” said Jamie Lyons, Westland Insurance president and CEO.

“With this top-notch brokerage joining our team, we’re able to expand our offerings and deepen our national capabilities in the group benefits space. Their expertise and focus on exceptional client service align perfectly with our vision to be Canada’s favourite broker, especially as we continue to grow in the financial broader services segment.”

In May, Westland Insurance acquired MYCOR Insurance Solutions Inc. and Murphy Insurance Services Inc., two Ontario-based brokerages. Just last month, Westland Insurance announced three acquisitions: Haggett & Rogers Group of Companies, BMT Insurance Brokers Limited, and Dimensions Insurance Management.

Westland Insurance stands as one of Canada's largest independent insurance brokers, facilitating over $3 billion in premium trade.
